From South via Interstate 5
- Take I-5 northbound to exit 165 onto Seneca Street.
- Turn right onto 6th Avenue, then right onto Pike Street.
- Turn right onto 7th Avenue. ACT will be on your left at the end of the block.
From North via Interstate 5
- Take I-5 southbound to exit 165B onto Union Street. ACT will be on your right as you exit the freeway.
From East via Interstate 90
- Take I-90 westbound to exit 2C for I-5 N toward Vancouver B.C.
- Follow signs for Madison Street/Convention Place and merge onto 7th Avenue.
- Turn left at Seneca Street.
- Take the 1st left onto 6th Avenue.
- Turn right on Pike Street, then take the first right onto 7th Avenue. ACT will be on your left at the end of the block.
We have secured discounted rates available for ACT Theatre patrons from our parking partner, LAZ Parking. Parking can be pre-purchased on the Directions & Parking page of our website.
Parking is available at many downtown locations, including:
- Convention Place Parking (enter on 7th Avenue between Union and Pike). Parking for people with disabilities is available at the Convention Center Garage. If you require wheelchair-accessible seating, please contact our Ticket Office, firstname.lastname@example.org or 206.292.7676.
- 7th & Pike Parking (located above the Cheesecake Factory; enter on 7th Avenue, between Pike and Pine)
- Union Square Parking (enter at the intersection of 7th and Union, opposite ACT)

Passenger Drop-Off Area: A passenger drop-off area is conveniently located just off the right lane of Convention Place (in the Convention Center underpass); you may enter ACT via our main doors on Union Street.

Smoking is NOT allowed in any part of the theatre or within 25 feet of the entrance.
No firearms of any kind are allowed in any part of the theatre.

ACT offers the Figaro MobiTxt® Closed Captioning System for audience members who are Deaf/ Hard of Hearing (HH). This system is offered at multiple performances for each production of our Mainstage season (please check with the ticket office about availability for productions outside our Mainstage season). Devices can be requested upon arrival at the theatre. ACT is also equipped with the Williams Sound® Audio Equipment, which amplifies stage sounds with the aid of headsets (ask staff for assistance). ASL interpreted performances for the Mainstage Season are offered at least once per play (check the website or contact the Ticket Office for ASL dates). Wheelchair seating is also available.

Starting with the 2017 Mainstage season, ACT will be offering the Figaro MobiTxt® Closed Captioning System for audience members who are Deaf/ Hard of Hearing (HH).
The Figaro system supports closed captioning on individual tablets attached to a “gooseneck” stand on the arm of the patron’s seat anywhere in the theatre. The captioning will be run manually by an operator at each performance so there will be no delay in the display. Formatting, font size and color can be chosen from a selection of standard settings by the patron, and the display will only be visible to the individual using it and will not disrupt those seated nearby.
Patrons wishing to utilize the CC system should purchase tickets as they normally would, then call or email the Ticket Office to reserve a tablet at email@example.com or 206.292.7676. Tablets may also be requested upon arrival at the theatre. A form of ID must be presented in exchange for the tablet and will be returned when the tablet is returned after the show.

Wheelchair Accessible Seating
Tickets may be purchased by phone, in person, or the Select-Your-Own-Seat function on this website. Please note: In the event of sold out performances, accessible and companion seating may be released for sale to the general public one (1) hour prior to the beginning of each show.
Swing & Armless Arms Chairs
Swing arm chairs are available for patrons who wish to transfer from their wheelchair to a seat. ACT Theatre also provides armless chairs by request.
ACT is equipped with the Williams Sound® Audio Equipment, which amplifies stage sounds with the aid of headsets. We currently have 30 of these devices.
Headsets are available free of charge in the lobby. And they’re not only for people with hearing loss! Headsets can be helpful for anyone wanting a bit of extra help to catch every line.
The neck loop plugs into a receiver’s earphone jack to provide a magnetic signal that can be picked up by a hearing aid equipped with a telecoil (t-switch). It is worn like a lanyard. It is suitable for a person with moderate to severe hearing loss.
Integrated safety breakaway device. In the event the neckloop cord becomes entangled with an object in motion, the breakaway device will disconnect the neckloop from the user.

Audio description also referred to as a video description or more precisely called a visual description, is an additional narration track intended primarily for blind and visually impaired consumers of visual media (including television and film, dance, opera, and visual art). It consists of a narrator talking through the presentation, describing what is happening on the screen or stage during the natural pauses in the audio, and sometimes during dialogue if deemed necessary
The technique is similar to that of an old-style radio play
For the performing arts (theater, dance, opera), and media (television, movies and DVD), description is a form of audio-visual translation, using the natural pauses in dialogue or between critical sound elements to insert narrative that translates the visual image into a sense form that is accessible to millions of individuals who otherwise lack full access to television and film.
ASL interpreted performances for the Mainstage Season are offered at least once per play. Tickets can be purchased on each show’s page.
Signed performances are aimed at people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Nationally Certified Sign Language Interpreters, specializing in performance, work with a Deaf Sign Master/Coach to prepare their American Sign Language translations. During the performance the interpreters are located in the front of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing section.
Specific seats are allocated in the theatre (mostly within the first eight rows) so that the theatre-goer can read the signers interpretation clearly.

Is ACT accessible for patrons with disabilities?
Absolutely! Convenient parking is available at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center Garage, as well as easy drop off points near the entrance of our building. We have elevators that access each theatre lobby area and removable chairs in each theatre to accommodate wheelchair patrons.
I am hard of hearing, will I be able to enjoy the performance?

May I bring children?
Our general recommendation is age 14 and older. However, we recommend that you call our Ticket Office at 206.292.7676 to verify if a particular show is appropriate for you and your family. As a courtesy to our audience and actors on stage, ACT does not allow babes in arms or anyone younger than age five at any time. Everyone entering the theatre must have a ticket. Our annual holiday production of A Christmas Carol is recommended for ages five and older.
What is the dress code?
All we ask is that you come fully dressed and comfortable.
What is your policy on cameras, cell phones, pagers and other electronic devices?
Photographic or recording equipment are not allowed in the theatre. As a courtesy to our audience and actors on stage, we ask that all cell phones, pagers, and other electronic devices be turned off BEFORE the show.
Are food and drinks allowed in the theatre?
We allow drinks in our theatres, provided they are in a plastic cup with no ice. No glass allowed. And, please, no food.
May I exchange my tickets for another night?
Subscribers and ACTPass monthly members receive complimentary exchanges as one of their benefits. Upgrade charges may apply if choosing a more expensive performance based on the day of the week. Single ticket buyers may exchange tickets in most instances with an exchange fee per ticket,. Please contact the ticket office for more information on fees.
What if I have an emergency and miss my performance?
We will make every effort to accommodate you for another performance. Give the ticket office a call and we will seat you on a space available basis.
