Welcome!

Welcome to the latest edition of ACTNews!

Are you missing ACT on stage? We’ve got some news for you!

Earlier this year, ACT and Trial and Error Productions created a new platform for local playwrights and new, contemporary works called ACT Local. We will be sharing some of this work with you – including at least one World Premiere – as part of our upcoming digital season. Stay tuned right here to an announcement soon on how you’ll be able to stream and enjoy ACT at home.

In this issue of ACTNews, you’ll find the final episode of our ACTNow! podcast. Plus, just what has Core Company member Brandon O’Neill been up to during quarantine? Stream our latest ACTShorts episode.

In the news: Managing Director Becky Witmer “phoned it in” for a special episode of Art Zone with Nancy Guppy.

Remember, you’ll find announcements, links to content and more right here every two weeks. Don’t forget to take a moment to get in touch. Let us know what theatre programming you would like to see from ACT. We enjoy hearing from you.

We look forward to the time when we can gather with you in person in our building. As always, we appreciate your continued support.

Ticketing Options

As you may have heard, ACT has made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 season due to the impact of COVID-19.

Our cancelled performances include all 2020 Mainstage Performances, our ACTLab Season, and the Young Playwrights Program.

The 2020 Mainstage Season included:

  • Sweat (March 20 – April)
  • The Effect (April 17 – May 10)
  • Choir Boy (June 5 – 28)
  • The Laugh Track (September 11 – October 4)
  • Witch (October 23 – November 15)

Ticketholders have received an email with additional instructions, but you may also click here to explore some of the ticketing options available for you.

We hope you will consider donating the value of your ticket(s) back to ACT. Choosing to donate your ticket value will help to sustain our theatre through this difficult time.

If your donation is more than $100, you will receive opportunities to engage with the theatre in new ways, as a member of ACT’s Partner Circles, including behind-the-scenes tours and more. If you have already donated a portion of your fees, that gift will count toward your total donation amount.

You may also choose to convert the value of your tickets into an ACT Gift Certificate. ACT Theatre Gift Certificates have no expiration date. Feel confident in these uncertain times that you will be able to see a show on ACT’s stage just as soon as we re-open.

Thank you for your ongoing support and patience during these uncertain times. It means the world to us! We can’t wait to reopen our doors and welcome you back to ACT Theatre very soon!
