ACT – A Theatre of New Ideas

ACT was founded with an unwavering passion to the development of artistically bold new work. Since it’s very first season in 1965, ACT has proudly presented over 40 world premiere plays as a part of the mainstage season, including Pilgrims Musa and Sheri in the New World, First Date, and Daisy, as well as many brand new and exciting works through what is now called ACTLab. ACT believes that the future of American theatre will always require a fearless dedication to the development of new work and is currently devoted to offering one new commission, and three workshops every year, as a part of the ACT New Play Development program. These new plays that will be imbued with the passion and spirit of ACT Theatre and will represent a variety of diverse and exciting voices.
